Leilani Rosine

Leilani Rosine is an actress from Brooklyn, New York. Her work includes film, television, and theater. Born and raised in East New York Brooklyn, she attended the LaGuardia Arts High School for Performing Arts. During her final year she became a Level II Theater Spoken Only Award recipient from Young Arts. From there she went on to receive her B.F.A from the California Institute of the Arts' School of Theater, trained with HB Studio, Victor Cruz, long time mentor Ben Harney, and studied abroad at the National Drama School of New Zealand Toi Whakaari. She has performed on stage at Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, The New Federal Theatre, The Lorraine Hansberry Theater ( San Francisco), REDCAT( LA), and The Newman Center Opera House (CO). She was recently seen as the lead in the film "Sheet Music" which garnered her the Best Breakout Perfomance award at the 2022 Philadelphia First Glance Film Festival, and as Raquel in " SkyLife". She can be seen next in the upcoming films, " The Therapy Sessions" and "Anything Helps"; and season 2 of the series "Shoutout 2 My Therapist".

 

Leilani is also a writer and producer, with her credits including the short film " The Interview" which was an official selection for the 2022 Deltas of Charlotte Black Women in Film showcase, the web series "Homework", and the Black American History episodic " TORCH". She is the founder and head of Calibr Films, a production company based in NY, that focuses on telling diverse narratives through the lens. Calibr's most recent film "What Exists" , which she wrote and produced, funded in part by a generous grant from YoungArts, was an official selection for the 2024 NY African Film Festival, the 2024 RSF Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival; and is currently a semi finalist for the 2024 Dumbo Film Festival. Leilani is grateful to God for every opportunity to bring stories to life and she also loves to laugh. Alot.
